Lenovo Device Orchestration Setup Guide

Lenovo Device Orchestration Setup Guide

Overview

Lenovo Device Orchestration (LDO) provides a centralized platform for managing supported devices and applications. Organizations can configure LDO features and integrate supported services based on their device management requirements.

LDO also provides tools to monitor device health and manage applications proactively, helping IT teams address potential issues before they affect the user experience.

This guide is intended for Organization Administrators and IT Administrators responsible for setting up LDO for their organization.

Info
LDO is designed for organizations and does not support individual accounts.

Prerequisites

  1. Verify that your organization, devices, and network environment meet the requirements described in the Lenovo Device Orchestration Requirements article.
  2. Ensure that you have a Lenovo ID. If you do not have one, create it by completing the following steps:
    1. Go to the Lenovo Device Orchestration Sign In Page
    2. Select Create your Lenovo ID in the upper-right corner of the page.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your account.

Step 1. Access Your Account

When your organization's portal is created, Lenovo Device Orchestration (LDO) automatically creates an administrative account for the IT Owner identified at the time of purchase.

The designated IT Owner receives an e-mail confirming that access to the organization has been granted.

To access the LDO portal as an Organization Administrator:
  1. Open the invitation e-mail from Lenovo Device Orchestration (LDO).
  2. Select the link in the e-mail to open the LDO sign-in page. Alternatively, copy the URL from the e-mail and paste it into your browser.
  3. Sign in with the Lenovo ID associated with the administrative account.

Step 2. Change the Language (Optional)

LDO is available in the following languages:
  1. English
  2. Spanish
  3. French
  4. Portuguese
  5. German
  6. Italian
  7. Japanese
  8. Chinese
  9. Tagalog
To change the language, see Setting Up User Preferences.

Step 3. Set Up Your Organization

After the organization account is created, the Org Admin can access the portal to review organization information, security settings, feature controls, and available licenses.

For detailed information, see Setting Up Organization Accounts.

Step 4. Onboard and Manage Devices

After your organization is configured, onboard your organization's devices to LDO. Once onboarded, devices can communicate with the platform, report device information, and be managed through the LDO portal.

The onboarding process varies by operating system. After onboarding is complete, use the Devices page to view devices, review detailed device information, and perform available management actions.

For detailed instructions, see the following articles:

Device onboarding

  1. Onboarding Windows Devices
  2. Onboarding Linux (Ubuntu) Devices
  3. Onboarding Chrome Devices

Device management

  2. Managing Devices – Device Details Page
  3. Removing a Device from LDO

Step 5. Assign Licenses to Onboarded Devices

After devices are onboarded, assign licenses to enable the full set of Lenovo Device Orchestration (LDO) management capabilities. For detailed instructions, see Assigning and Managing Licenses.
Info
Devices purchased with Premier Support Plus include an LDO license. For all other devices, an LDO license must be purchased separately.

Step 6. Manage Users

After the initial setup is complete, add users and assign roles to provide access to Lenovo Device Orchestration (LDO). User roles determine which features and administrative functions each user can access.

You can invite users individually or in bulk, update user information, review permissions, and remove users when access is no longer required. For detailed instructions, see Managing Users.
