Adding an Android Application to Device Management

Device Management allows users to add Android applications that can be easily added to Device Management Apps list and deployed to one or group of devices.

1. Navigate to App Management > Apps page. Click on Add Application + button. 
2. Select Android from the Platform drop-down. 
3. Select corresponding Package Type from the drop-down. Android supports both App and Firmware package type. 
4. Under Application File, select Automatic package. 
5. Drag and drop or upload .apk. The maximum size of the upload file is 4 GB. 
6. Add the App Name and Version (and icon, optional). 
Warning
App Name can contain only numbers 0-9, dash, letters and spaces. 
7. Click Submit to begin automatic packaging and scanning process. 
8. The new app will be added to the Apps list. Initially, the app status will display as In Scanning. After successful virus scanning, the app will be available for deployment (in Clean state). 

Viewing an Application 

Once an Android application is added to Device Management, admins can view the application information and perform basic actions through the Apps Tray. You can access the apps tray from Apps > (Click on the app) > Device Tray. The Apps Tray contains the following tabs: 

Apps Info Tab 

The following features are available on the Apps Info tab: 
  1. App created and modified date, app ID 
  2. Option to download the app  
  3. Read-only details – Platform, Package Type and Device 
  4. Name and version of the app (editable fields) 
  5. Option to upload a new version of the app file 
  6. App icon (with option to upload a new icon or remove the existing icon) 

Deployment Schedules 

The deployment schedules section shows the list of scheduled deployments of the app and  the details. Organization administrators can choose to delete the deployment by clicking the Delete icon. 

Activity History Tab 

The following options are available on the Activity History tab: 
  1. View the device Activity History
