Viewing Device Information – Chromebook

Once a Chromebook is added to LDO, admins can view the device information and perform basic actions through the Device Tray. You can navigate to the Device Tray by following this path: Device Management > Device List > (Select the device) > Device Tray

Device Tray

When you open the tray, the device name appears in the top-left corner. To edit it, select the three-dot menu in the top-right corner. The three-dot menu in the top-right corner offers the following options: 
  1. Inspect device: Redirects you to LDO > Device Insights and displays the same device information shown in the device tray, along with some additional details.
  2. Edit: Lets you edit the device name.
  3. Delete: Lets you delete the device.  
Alert
If a device is not fully registered or is not licensed, neither its data nor action functionality will be available in the Device Tray.

Device information is organized into different Tabs:

Device Info Tab

This tab provides detailed device information, which is presented in these subtabs:

Device Information

  1. Network information:  Online/Offline.
  2. License information: name of the license if the device is licensed. 
  3. Uptime/Downtime Duration: this metric indicates the duration a device has been online or offline since it was claimed. The percentage measures the uptime or downtime relative to the total time.
  4. Device Category (PC/tablet/mobile/SmartEdge/AR/VR, Chromebook).
  5. Serial number
  6. Labels 
Adding a Note
  1. This feature allows IT and Org Admins to add and manage notes for the device. 
  2. Select a device to open the Device tray.
  3. Click the Add Note link located at the bottom.
  4. Enter your text.
  5. Click Save.
  6. To modify the note, click the Edit button. To remove the note, click the Delete button.

Details

Provides other detailed information, such as:
  1. Product Family
  2. Manufacturer Name
  3. Operating System
  4. Country where the device is located
  5. Language: device language setting
  6. Time zone offset: the device’s time zone according to its physical location
  7. Connectivity: Available or Unavailable
  8. Created date
  9. Updated date: date of the device's most recent update

Hardware

Displays information such as the motherboard type and memory size. 

Peripherals and IoT Tab

Displays the following information: USB or HDMI peripherals connected to the device, along with the currently ports in use.

Warranty Tab

This tab provides detailed information about the device’s warranty or warranties, including the name, type, expiration date, and purchase date.

Notes
The Warranty tab is displayed only for Lenovo devices with a Premium license.

Alerts History Tab

Displays the following information: Low Battery alert, low Storage alert, OTA Deployment alert.
Notes
Alert status is reflective over a rolling seven-day period.

Activity History Tab

Displays the following information: device activity and username, date and time of the event. It also offers the ability to Export activity history as a CSV file.
