Removing a Device From Device Management

Removing a Device From Device Management

To permanently remove a device from your portal—particularly when transferring ownership outside your company—you must delete the device. Once deleted, the device will no longer be accessible in your portal.

If you no longer plan to use the device with the portal, we recommend uninstalling the Lenovo UDC Agent (Universal Device Client). Below are the steps to uninstall the UDC Agent:

To delete one or more devices:
  1. Navigate to Device Management > Devices page.
  2. Select the checkbox next to the device(s) in the devices list.
  3. Click on the Delete button.
  4. Click Yes in the confirmation pop-up to delete the device or Cancel to go back to the devices list.

Removing an Intel vPro® Device with Intel vPro® Agent Installed

To delete an Intel vPro device with Intel vPro® agent installed:
  1. Navigate to Device Management > Devices page.
  2. Select the checkbox next to the Intel vPro® device(s) in the devices list.
  3. Click on the Delete button.
  4. Click Yes in the confirmation pop-up to delete the device or Cancel to go back to the devices list.
When the Intel vPro® device is deleted from Device Management, the device will first be automatically un-provisioned from the Intel EMA server. Then the device will be un-provisioned from the UDS server before it is removed from the list of devices on Device Management. Until the device is successfully removed from the Intel EMA server, the device status will show as "Decommissioning". This may take up to 1 hour after the deletion request is sent to the Intel EMA server. When the device is in the Decommissioning state, the device will be marked as Inactive and no actions can be performed on the device (such as opening the device tray etc.,)

If the device has not been successfully un-provisioned from the Intel EMA server within 1 hour of the deletion request, the device will be automatically force deleted from UDS and Device Management. Once done, it will be added to the Decommissioned Devices Report.
